The genomic DNA that preserves genomic information is far longer than cells. With aids of numerous proteins, our DNAs are weaved as “chromosome”, not only for packaging them in a nucleus but also exerting various cellular activities including chromosome segregation, gene regulation and DNA repair.
We are studying molecular mechanisms underlying chromosome organization by purifying and reconstituting the responsible proteins in a test tube.
